The medicine should be taken on an empty stomach.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dosage<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Treatment of beta-hemolytic Streptococcus infections<\/strong>: At least 10 days of treatment with cefaclor is required.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Usual dose for adults<\/strong>: 250 mg, every 8 hours. For more severe infections or those caused by less susceptible bacteria, the dose can be doubled. A dose of 4g per day has been used safely in normal subjects for 28 days, but the total daily dose should not exceed 4g.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dose for pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, pharyngitis, recurrent tonsillitis, sinusitis<\/strong>: 250 mg, every 8 hours. For more severe infections, the dose can be doubled.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Treatment of otitis media<\/strong>: 250 mg, every 8 hours. For more severe infections, the dose can be doubled.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (including pyelonephritis and cystitis)<\/strong>: 250 mg, every 8 hours. For more severe infections or those caused by less susceptible bacteria, the dose can be doubled.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Skin and soft tissue infections<\/strong>: 250 mg, every 8 hours. For more severe infections, the dose can be doubled.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dosage for renal impairment<\/strong>: Cefaclor can be used in patients with renal impairment. In severe renal impairment, the dose should be adjusted for adults as follows: If creatinine clearance is 10-50 ml\/min, use 50% of the usual dose; if creatinine clearance is less than 10 ml\/min, use 25% of the usual dose.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hemodialysis patients<\/strong>: When on hemodialysis, the half-life of cefaclor in the serum is reduced by 25-30%. Therefore, for patients on regular hemodialysis, an initial dose of 250 mg &#8211; 1 g should be taken before hemodialysis, and a maintenance dose of 250-500 mg should be taken every 6-8 hours between dialysis sessions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Elderly<\/strong>: Use the same dose as adults.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Children<\/strong>: The usual daily dosage recommendation for children is 20 mg\/kg\/day divided into multiple doses every 8 hours. For otitis media and pharyngitis, the total daily dose can be divided into doses every 12 hours.
