Other infections include: urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and Lyme disease.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Dosage &amp; Administration<\/strong>:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Administration<\/strong>: Swallow the tablet whole or break it in half, with water. Take the medicine after a meal to increase its effectiveness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Dosage<\/strong>:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Adults<\/strong>:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Pharyngitis, tonsillitis or maxillary sinusitis<\/strong>: 250 mg, twice daily.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Acute otitis media<\/strong>: 500 mg, twice daily.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis or uncomplicated skin and soft tissue infections<\/strong>: 250 mg or 500 mg, twice daily.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Uncomplicated urinary tract infections<\/strong>: 250 mg, twice daily.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Uncomplicated cervical or urethral gonorrhea or uncomplicated rectal gonorrhea in women<\/strong>: A single dose of 1g.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Early Lyme disease<\/strong>: 500 mg, twice daily, for 20 days.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Children<\/strong>:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Pharyngitis, acute tonsillitis, acute sinusitis<\/strong>: 125 mg every 12 hours.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Children 3 months to 2 years<\/strong>: 10 mg\/kg twice daily up to a maximum of 125 mg twice daily.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Children 2 to 12 years with otitis media<\/strong>: 15 mg\/kg twice daily up to a maximum of 250 mg twice daily.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Children 12 to 18 years<\/strong>: 250 mg per dose, every 12 hours. The dose can be doubled in cases of severe lower respiratory tract infections or suspected pneumonia.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Renal impairment<\/strong>: The safety and efficacy of cefuroxime axetil in patients with renal impairment have not been established.
