Take the tablet with water, with or without food.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Dosage<\/strong>:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Treatment of Hypertension<\/strong>: The usual effective dose is 40 mg once daily. Some patients may only need a 20 mg daily dose. If the target blood pressure is not achieved, the telmisartan dose can be increased to 80 mg once daily. Alternatively, telmisartan can be used in combination with a thiazide diuretic like hydrochlorothiazide.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Cardiovascular Disease Prevention<\/strong>: The recommended dose is 80 mg once daily. When initiating telmisartan treatment for cardiovascular risk reduction, blood pressure should be closely monitored, and if necessary, the dose of other antihypertensive medications should be adjusted accordingly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Renal Impairment<\/strong>: Use is limited in patients with renal impairment or on hemodialysis. A lower initial dose of 20 mg should be used in these patients. No dose adjustment is needed for patients with mild to moderate renal impairment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Hepatic Impairment<\/strong>: Contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment. In patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment, the dose should not exceed 40 mg once daily.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Elderly<\/strong>: No dose adjustment is needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Children under 18 years<\/strong>: Safety and efficacy have not been established.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Contraindications<\/strong>:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Hypersensitivity to Telmisartan or other components of the medication.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Pregnant women in the first and third trimesters. Breastfeeding women.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Severe renal impairment. Renal impairment with a serum creatinine concentration \u2265 250 micromol\/liter or serum potassium \u2265 5 mmol\/liter or CI &lt; 30 ml\/min.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Severe hepatic impairment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Biliary obstruction.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Concomitant use of Telmisartan 40 with aliskiren-containing products in patients with diabetes or renal impairment (glomerular filtration rate (GFR) &lt; 60 ml\/min\/1.73m\u00b2).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Storage &amp; Quality<\/strong>:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Storage<\/strong>: Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature below 30\u00b0C, away from light.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Shelf Life<\/strong>: 36 months from the manufacturing date.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Quality Standard<\/strong>: Manufacturer&#8217;s Standard.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Treatment of hypertension: Can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive drugs.
