- Indications & Usage:
- m-REDNISON 16 with the active ingredient Methylprednisolone is used in non-specific therapy requiring the anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects of glucocorticoids for: rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, certain vasculitis: giant cell arteritis and polyarteritis nodosa; sarcoidosis, bronchial asthma, chronic ulcerative colitis, acute hemolytic anemia, lymphoma, breast cancer, prostate cancer. Methylprednisolone is also indicated for the treatment of primary nephrotic syndrome.
- Dosage & Administration:
- The starting dose is 6-40 mg per day. Use a single dose once every two days in the morning.
- Treatment of a severe asthma attack in hospitalized patients: Initially, administer methylprednisolone 60-120 mg intravenously once every 6 hours; after the acute asthma attack subsides, use an oral dose of 32-48 mg/day. Then gradually reduce the dose and can be discontinued within 10 days to 2 weeks.
- Acute asthma attack: 2-48 mg/day, for 5 days, then a lower dose can be supplemented for one week.
- Severe rheumatic diseases: Initially use a dose of 0.8 mg/kg/day divided into small doses, then maintenance therapy with a single daily dose.
- Rheumatoid arthritis: Starting dose is 4-6 mg/day. In an acute flare-up, use a higher dose: 16-32 mg/day, then reduce gradually and quickly.
- Chronic arthritis in children with life-threatening complications: Sometimes pulse therapy is used with a dose of 10-30 mg/kg/course (usually 3 courses).
- Sarcoidosis: 0.8 mg/kg/day. Use a low maintenance dose: 8 mg/day.
- Acute exacerbation of multiple sclerosis: The daily dose is 160 mg, used for one week, then reduced to 64 mg daily for one month.

- Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to methylprednisolone.
- Current use of live virus vaccines.
- Severe infections, except for septic shock and tuberculous meningitis.
- Skin lesions caused by viruses, fungi, or tuberculosis.
- Storage & Quality:
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature below 30°C, away from light.
- Shelf Life: 36 months from the manufacturing date.
