- Dosage & Administration:
- Administration: Can be taken on an empty or full stomach, alone or with food. If blood pressure is not controlled with losartan alone, a low-dose diuretic can be added. Do not combine losartan with potassium-sparing diuretics due to the risk of hyperkalemia.
- Dosage: Dosage depends on the individual patient and should be adjusted based on blood pressure response.
- Initial dose for adults: 50 mg once daily.
- Patients with intravascular fluid depletion, including those on diuretics, or with hepatic impairment: The initial dose should be lower (25 mg daily).
- Usual maintenance dose: 25-100 mg, taken once or twice daily.
- No dose adjustment is needed for elderly patients or those with renal impairment, including those on hemodialysis.
- A lower dose should be considered for patients with a history of hepatic impairment.
- In general, if blood pressure is not controlled with the current dose, the dose of the antihypertensive medication should be adjusted every 1-2 months.

- Storage & Quality:
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature below 30°C, away from light.
