- This medication is used to treat infections caused by susceptible bacteria such as:
- Otitis media.
- Pharyngitis and tonsillitis.
- Bronchitis, pneumonia.
- Certain cases of pyelonephritis and urinary tract infections.

- Dosage & Administration:
- Administration: Swallow the tablet whole with water.
- Dosage:
- Adults, elderly, and children over 12 years weighing more than 50 kg: Take 1-2 tablets daily, either as a single dose or divided into two doses 12 hours apart.
- Children under 12 and patients with renal impairment: Consult a physician.
- Duration of treatment: Depending on the type of infection, treatment should be extended for an additional 48-72 hours after the infection symptoms have subsided. The usual treatment duration for uncomplicated urinary tract infections and upper respiratory tract infections (such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis) is 5-10 days; for lower respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis, pneumonia) and otitis media, it’s 10-14 days.

- Contraindications:
- If the patient is allergic to cefixime or other cephalosporin antibiotics, including penicillin, or to any component of the medication.
