- Dosage & Administration:
- Administration: Oral use. Dissolve the effervescent tablet completely in water. Drink immediately after it has fully dissolved.
- Dosage:
- Adults: Take 2 tablets every 4 hours, up to a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours.
- Children 16-18 years: Take 1-2 tablets every 6 hours, up to a maximum of 8 tablets in 24 hours.
- Children 12-15 years: Take 1 tablet every 6 hours, up to a maximum of 4 tablets in 24 hours.
- Elderly: Dose is the same as adults, but may need to be reduced depending on the specific case.
- Contraindications:
- Children under 12 years: Codein should not be used in children under 12 years due to the risk of opioid toxicity from unpredictable metabolism of Codein into morphine.
- Hypersensitivity to paracetamol or Codein, or to any component of the medication.
- Conditions where morphine and opioids are contraindicated, for example: acute asthma, respiratory failure, acute alcoholism, head trauma, increased intracranial pressure, and after biliary tract surgery.
- Panalgan Effer Codein is not recommended for children under 12 years.
- Children 0-18 years who have recently undergone tonsillectomy and/or adenoidectomy to treat obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.
- Breastfeeding women.
- Patients who are ultra-rapid metabolizers of CYP2D6.

- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature below 30°C, away from light.
