Alfachim® 4.2

Composition: Each film-coated tablet contains: 4200 USP Units of Chymotrypsin (equivalent to 21 microkatals of chymotrypsin).

Excipients: White sugar, wheat starch, povidone K30, stearic acid, silicon dioxide, enzymthol.

Dosage Form: Tablet
Packaging: Box of 2 blisters x 10 tablets
Indications: Treats post-traumatic, post-surgical, and burn-related edema
Information
  • Dosage & Administration:
    • Administration: Oral or sublingual use.
    • Dosage:
      • Oral: Take 2 tablets (equivalent to 42 microkatals of chymotrypsin) 3-4 times daily.
      • Sublingual: 4-6 tablets daily, divided evenly throughout the day, allowing the tablet to dissolve slowly under the tongue.
  • Contraindications:
    • Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to chymotrypsin or any component of the medication.
    • Do not use chymotrypsin in patients with reduced alpha-1 antitrypsin.
    • Note: Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), especially emphysema, and nephrotic syndrome are at risk for reduced alpha-1 antitrypsin.
  • Storage & Quality:
    • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature below 30°C, away from light.
    • Shelf Life: 36 months from the manufacturing date.
    • Quality Standard: Manufacturer’s Standard.
